Back in 2012, I hit a crossroad in my life. I needed to make some positive changes to my health and view of the world. After traveling to incredible places like Japan, India and the Middle East, I fell in love with tea and turned it into Lemon Lily, which is now Canada’s largest Organic Tea Company. My desire to live a clean & healthy life transcends into my teas which are certified organic, all natural, gluten-free and vegan.
I am a huge supporter of local businesses who care about the world and the people within it. By providing a healthy alternative to products containing dairy, Yoso is driving a culture of individuals seeking better food for our bodies and minds.
We asked a few questions about his dairy-free lifestyle as part of this series, Living Dairy Free:
Why are you dairy-free?
Dairy has never agreed with me. When I became a vegetarian in 2012 this was an easy thing to give up for good.
Favourite dairy-free products?
I’m a big fan of Yoso’s Soygo Vanilla yogurt and Cultured Coconut Chocolate. Outside of Yoso, I love Liz’s Unbaked Cakes (raw, vegan deliciousness) and Culcherd’s Tree Nut Cheese.
Favourite local spot to eat that accommodates dairy-free?
No particular place jumps out at me. I’m finding that restaurants are slowly but surely figuring out that they need more dairy free and vegan menu options.
Favourite place to shop for groceries?
I do a lot of my vegan and dairy-free shopping at Whole Foods, Healthy Planet and The Big Carrot.
