My work and philosophies focus on graceful aging and authentic wellness and I enjoy sharing my passion for all that is connected to successful and joyful living. My foundation in wellness comes from a lifetime of being active and being involved in mindful movement, competitive sport and fitness, as well as having an interest for realizing a heightened sense of connection. I am a Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher, Indoor Cycling Instructor, Ironman Triathlete and a Human and Equine Reiki Practitioner.
I look forward on a daily basis to sharing inspiration and information, both in person and virtually, in my quest to create community and foster wellness for all.
As someone who takes great pride in sharing my passion for all that is connected to successful and joyful living, I am honoured to be included in a like-minded group of others who enjoy doing the same. Yoso as a company offers a wonderful and healthier product, and is always supporting their community, including sponsoring a recent fundraiser that I created. The response from everyone who tried Yoso in attendance at the event was so positive, that it brings me great pleasure to share, since that pleasure is always passed on and then paid forward. This is how we can all make a difference, by sharing the good…so thank you for creating this community, and including me.
We asked a few questions about his dairy-free lifestyle as part of this series, Living Dairy Free:
Why are you dairy-free?
I believe we should all make the most conscious choices in our lives that we can… it’s all about connection. If we practice mindfulness and gratitude when it comes to our food choices, it becomes clear, how dairy isn’t a kind food in many ways. I appreciate how many dairy-free options there are now that are whole food based, that it makes it much more possible to eat dairy-free with greater ease than ever.
Top five favourite dairy-free products?
I appreciate Yoso very much, and not simply because we are in conversation and offering your support. The product is delicious, I like that your company is a family-based business with a passion to do better with a great story. I also enjoy indulging in Miyoko’s cultured cashew-based cheeses, BIO RAW Caesar Salad (and all of their nutrient-dense ready-to-eat meals), Greenhouse Juice’s organic almond milk in glass bottles, and when it comes to a salty snack, it’s hard to pass up Lesser Evil’s Grain Free No Cheese Cheesiness Paleo Puffs.
Favourite local spot to eat that accommodates dairy-free?
There are so many that accommodate, but also many who don’t any dairy on the menu, and it’s not missed! I love Nut Bar, Village Juicery, Impact Kitchen and Live Organic Bar for eat in and take away. For more of a sit-down dining experience in Toronto, I enjoy Pizzeria Libretto, who make their own dairy-free cheese in house with great ingredients.
Favourite place to shop for groceries?
Not just for groceries, I find shopping at The Big Carrot and Nature’s Emporium offer the whole package – everything you need in terms of grocery plus the best “fast food” as well.
