“I believe the 21st century will confirm Aloe Vera to be the GREATEST medicine mankind has ever known.” – Lee Ritter, ND
Aloe is a succulent plant that belongs to the cactus family with thick and fleshy green leaves. The leaves contain a clear “meat” and gel that offer a number of health benefits. Aloe has been used in herbal medicine since the beginning of the first century AD. Because of its medicinal properties, ancient Egyptians called it the “plant of immortality.” Aloe is most often used topically to help with sunburns and heal wounds, as a skin moisturizer, to help reduce acne and inflammation, prevent aging skin, lessen the visibility of stretch marks, and can even treat certain gum diseases. The aloe “meat” and gel can be eaten, either cooked or raw. It’s commonly used in salads and drinks. It contains many nutrients and has laxative properties which aid digestion.
